- Facts About POWER STOP Cross-Drilled
and Slotted Rotors
- POWER STOP cross-drilled and slotted
rotors offer many advantages over your stock brake
components:
- Each rotor is analyzed for it's
specific application, vane structure, and construction to determine
the optimum cross drill or slot pattern.
- Drill and slot patterns are designed
on a CAD system to insure all design criteria are met. Programmed
patterns are run on one of our several CNC machining
centers.
- Each hole is radiused with POWER
STOP'S own designed tooling. Radiusing, unlike chamfering, produces
a smooth transition at the edge of the hole diameter, which reduces
stress risers, and reduces the occurrence of
fractures.
- The parts are designed with a
directional pattern. A pair must consist of a left and right
rotor.
- Most rotors (except those having an
integral hub, and heavy truck rotors) are gold/silver zinc plated.
- POWER STOP was the first to provide
this high performance look, which also protects the rotor from the
elements.
- Most POWER STOP rotors are available
slotted. Slotting is an option used when the internal vane structure
is not compatible with cross drilling.
- Select POWER STOP applications are
available in combination - slotted and
cross-drilled.
- POWER STOP cross-drilled and slotted
rotors will help eliminate brake fade and rotor warpage, as well as
enhancing wet weather braking. After several stops, during spirited
street driving, and under emergency braking, they will out perform
your original brake components.
